Why Jiu-Jitsu for your child?
If you're comparing kids' martial arts, here's what makes Jiu-Jitsu different.
- No striking, no punching. BJJ teaches control, so kids learn to handle themselves without hitting.
- Confidence from competence. They learn skills that actually work, not choreography.
- Belts and stripes. Goals they can see, earn and be proud of.
- Calm under pressure. They learn to handle it instead of panicking or lashing out.
- Respect and discipline are built into every class: lining up, listening, taking turns.
- It's fun. Games, grappling and problem-solving burn serious energy every session.

What parents say
“My son walks taller since he started. It's the one activity he never asks to skip, and the discipline has carried into school.”
“The coaches know every child by name. It's structured, high-energy and completely welcoming.”
“We tried three sports before this one stuck. She's fitter, calmer and prouder of herself.”
Questions, answered
Is it safe for my child?
Yes, and it's one of the safest ways for them to learn to handle themselves. BJJ has no striking: no punching or kicking, it's built on control. Classes are grouped by age [age groups to confirm per school, e.g. 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 15], fully supervised, and children only train with others their own size. [Coach vetting / DBS details to confirm before launch.]
What if my child is shy, or not sporty?
Those are often the children who get the most from it. There's no bench and nobody gets picked last: every child works at their own level, and our coaches are used to bringing quieter kids out of their shell. Most parents notice a change in confidence within the first few weeks.
Will my child be made to fight or compete?
Never. Competition is entirely optional and only comes up years in, if a child wants it. The challenge is about confidence, focus and self-defence in a friendly, structured class.
Can I stay and watch?
Absolutely. Parents are welcome at every session, and most stay for the first few weeks. You'll see exactly who is coaching your child and how they teach.
What does it cost, and what happens after?
Their trial session is free. The 4-Week Kids Challenge is £249 one-time, with everything included, and it's complete in itself: no contract, no auto-enrolment, nothing to cancel. Either way, you'll see the difference in four weeks.
But you're free to do nothing
Next school year looks exactly like this one. Or take the free session: it costs nothing, and one class is all it takes to see it.
